Seed Stamp

In addition to engineering, I really enjoy growing my own food during summer! One of my favorite veggies, carrots, can be grown in really close quarters (1-2" spacing between plants) so they're perfect for a backyard garden. But spacing out tiny seeds by hand 2" apart in 4'x4' beds is not fun at all (that's 576 seed holes); in the past, I had measured the spacing with a tape measure and made string "lattices" to mark where the seed holes should be, both of which took several hours. So i designed a seed "stamp" to speed this up!

The stamp was designed in Fusion360, and printed on my Prusa in PETG. A couple bolts were used to attach the handle, and after a few hours of printing, it was time to plant. Originally, I had planned on sliding the seeds through the holes at each node point, but those filled with dirt immediately, so I just used the stamp to mark the holes and planted the seeds later. Other than that one issue, the stamp worked really well and planting the beds took around 45 minutes each.
